Review: Compiling an intermediate reader with integration of language study and culture study was the idea of Yang Rui of Dickinson Lollege, Pennsylvania, USA, who invited Li Quan of Language and Culture Institute for Overseas Students, China Renmin University, to realize it. During Li Quan taught at Dickinson College from 1996 to 1997, the compiling work was jointly done. The preliminary design was outlined by Li Quan, and the two worked out the compiling program accordingly and set the content of each lesson. The part of Dialogue and all the English translation in the textbook were attributed to Yang Rui, and the parts of Short Passage, Notes, Functions and Exercises were the Credit of Li Quan... |
